DOMA Explores Networking Events as a New Marketing Strategy

DOMA Hosts Connected Business Networking Event

October 15, 2019

Networking is a fundamental part of every good business strategy. Forging partnerships with likeminded organizations can help your business leverage a wealth of expertise, collectively engage with new concepts, and build brand awareness. Connecting with other businesses may also reveal new avenues and opportunities through partnerships.

DOMA’s open-concept building and casual atmosphere provides the perfect setting for hosting engaging business to business (B2B) networking events. Over the past year, DOMA’s marketing team has put a fresh focus on becoming a tech networking destination. Already DOMA has hosted a variety of internal and external events including AWS Users Groups, Lunch and Learn Sessions, DX Users Testing Groups, and now Connected Business Networking Events.

DOMA’s First Hosting Opportunity With Connected Business Networking

On September 17th DOMA hosted its first Connected Business Networking (CBN) Event. CBN has over 150 members who meet monthly at different member locations around Hampton Roads. Each event hosts two keynote speakers and includes food and drinks, facility tours, and a speed networking session. CBN provides a platform for business leaders throughout the area to connect with other tier one organizations and take part in a thriving, active business community. Hosting a CBN event likewise offers a chance to get outside perspectives on your business’ operations and facilities. This was a key benefit for DOMA as it continues to test the waters as a B2B event host.

Event Highlights

DOMA’s CBN event was presented by CBN Marketing Director Gerry Dwyer & DOMA Marketing Director P.J. Yates. DOMA’s CEO Pat Feliciano was featured as one of the keynote speakers along with Sales and Marketing Consultant Brenda Wise. Pat focused on DOMA’s Vision 2021 as a model for success in business and shared insight into how the journey helped transform the company. He concludes that having a defined vision is a powerful tool in unifying a team and setting measurable checkpoints for growth.

Brenda reviewed her strategic approach to follow up marketing and emphasized the importance of communicating to your customer in the correct persona. Effective, targeted communication should be paired with immediate follow up to deliver superior results. Ultimately, being direct makes a difference, the longer you wait to follow up, the lower your success rate.

“I was very excited to learn that we were named a site host back in June. I have been a member of the CBN for almost a year and members have been approaching me for quite awhile about the buzz around our new facility, culture, and growth. And to cap things off they got a presentation of our Vision 2021 strategic roadmap, from our President & CEO, Pat Feliciano. He really energized the crowd and people left the event excited and motivated.”
