Project Story

DOMA assisted the city of Portsmouth with a major modernization project that included the relocation of various departments and the elimination of their off site storage facility. DOMA’s digitization solution included the OCR scanning of paper documents as well as the conversion and migration of various other forms of media not limited to microfiche, CDs/DVDs, and large format documents.

DOMA’s cloud-native document management software was scaled across the following departments to increase continuity and collaboration between facilities:

  • Human Resources
  • Finance
  • Parks & Rec
  • Planning
  • Engineering
  • Commissioner of the Revenue
  • City Attorney

Project Highlights

  • DOMA implemented a document digitization process for the large backfile conversion. This was paired with the implementation of DOMA’s DX software platform.
  • DOMA developed a seamless integration between Portsmouth’s existing HR & Finance software with the DOMA DX platform.

We were previously all paper, but DOMA converted all our active and terminated records to electronic format. They have streamlined our daily workflow by providing our data and documents in real time through their content services platform.

Final Outcome

Moving to the Cloud has provided the HR department with immediate, role-based access to personnel files through the DOMA software as well as a reduction in on-site IT support. The City of Portsmouth employees now have centralized access to over 3 million documents without the traditional costs associated with managing content in an on premise environment.
