DOMA Technologies Donates Computer Equipment to Local Elementary School
Virginia Beach, VA, March 9, 2017 — DOMA Technologies, a Data and Document Management software development company is partnering with Alanton Elementary School in Virginia Beach to support its Spanish Immersion Program. Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) offers partial-immersion programs, often known as dual immersion one-way programs, in Spanish at select elementary and middle schools. The first program was established at Christopher Farms Elementary School in 2002.
DOMA is supporting Alanton Elementary School by donating 25 Chromebooks to help deliver curriculum and instruction in both English and Spanish to first graders. Students receive instruction in mathematics and science in the target foreign language from one teacher and receive instruction in Language Arts and Social Studies in English from a second teacher. Lessons in elective classes such as art, music and physical education are in English.
There are proven studies that show when children learn a 2nd language at a young age, they attain higher levels of proficiency through high school education, priming them to pursue college level education.
