Project Story

Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) is a public medical school that serves the Hampton Roads community. EVMS is known for its strides in reproductive medicine and its leadership in community service and medical missions. In 2008 EVMS needed to address the limited space allocated for on-site physical documents and sought out a vendor that could help them centralize and streamline information access across multiple departments.

EVMS chose DOMA as its single source vendor because of our competitive pricing, technical response, and overall value. Upon receiving the contract, DOMA personnel went on-site to the individual departments for an analysis and evaluation of project documents and subsequently proposed a customized statement of work for conversion that would solve each department’s particular issues and goals

Project Highlights

DOMA’s tailored solution included:

  • Secure pickup and transfer of records to be processed and stored within the DOMA warehouse
  • Document preparation
  • Digitization: scanning, indexing, and quality control
  • Online access to documents via DOMA’s electronic document management

Final Outcome

DOMA’s solution for EVMS is truly enterprise-wide and is tailored to meet the specific needs of 14 different departments. Each EVMS department had unique challenges including a lack of on-site storage space and a need to re-purpose staff resources to more significant projects.
